Your bookmarks on every computer
Hive keeps your bookmarks in your Hive account instead of one browser profile. Sign in on any computer, in any Chrome profile or under any Google account, and all your groups, aliases and tags appear, ready to use.
Add to Chrome, it's freeSign in. They're all there.
Work laptop, home profile, a friend's computer. Sign in to Hive and every group, alias and tag is right where you left it. Not tied to one Chrome profile or one Google account.
Backed up in the cloud, and yours to export whenever you want.
Saves on the front window. Tap a window behind to bring it forward.

- Install Hive on each computer you use.
- Sign in with the same Hive account.
- Your groups, links, aliases and tags load in the popup.
- Changes you make on one computer show up on the others.
The profile problem
Browsers sync well, as long as you stay in one place. Bookmarks belong to the Chrome profile they were saved in, and the profile belongs to one Google account. That works until your life has more than one of each: a work laptop signed in with the company account, a personal profile at home, a shared computer at a client’s office, a fresh machine after an upgrade.
Each of those has its own bookmarks bar. The link you saved at work isn’t there at home. The folder you organized on your old laptop is still on your old laptop. People end up emailing links to themselves, or keeping a document full of URLs, because their bookmarks are stuck where they were made.
Your bookmarks belong to you, not to a profile
Hive moves the home of your bookmarks from the browser profile to your Hive account. The extension is just a window onto that account. Sign in to Hive in any profile, under any Google account, on any computer, and the same groups, links, aliases and tags load in the popup.
That one change removes a whole class of small frustrations:
- Work and home in one place. Keep a Product group and a Family group side by side, open both from either profile.
- A new laptop takes a minute. Install Hive, sign in, and every alias works again.
- A borrowed computer isn’t a dead end. Sign in, open what you need, sign out.
Always backed up
Because your links live in your Hive account, losing a computer doesn’t mean losing your bookmarks. There’s no export to remember before you wipe a machine, no sync setting to check. And if you ever want your data somewhere else, you can export your groups whenever you like.
Shared groups follow you too
Sync isn’t only about your own links. Groups you share with your team or family are part of your account as well, so a teammate’s new link appears on your work laptop and your home profile alike. When an owner updates a shared link, the change reaches every member on every computer they use.
What stays in the browser
Hive doesn’t take over your browser. Your Chrome bookmarks, history and profile settings stay exactly as they are; Hive never changes them. If you keep some links in Chrome’s bookmarks bar out of habit, Hive’s search can show them next to your Hive links, so you can find everything from one box while you move over at your own pace.
Privacy
Your groups are yours. Personal groups are visible only to you, and shared groups only to the people you invite. Personal tags stay private even on links in shared groups. The privacy policy explains what is stored and why.
Sync is on every plan, including the free Basic plan with up to 50 links. See plans
Questions about bookmark sync
Is this the same as Chrome sync?
No. Chrome sync ties bookmarks to the Google account signed in to that Chrome profile. Hive ties them to your Hive account, so they follow you across profiles, accounts and browsers.
Can I use Hive in a work profile and a personal profile?
Yes. Install Hive in each profile and sign in with your Hive account. The same groups appear in both, while the profiles themselves stay separate.
What if I use a computer that isn't mine?
Install Hive, sign in, and your links are there. Sign out of Hive when you're done.
Can I get my data out?
Yes. You can export your groups whenever you want, so you're never locked in.
Do my Chrome bookmarks move into Hive?
Hive leaves your Chrome bookmarks exactly where they are and never changes them. Its search can show them next to your Hive links.
